Former inspector-general of police (IGP) Musa Hassan has denied a blog posting that he married singer Syella Kamaruddin.
According to an Utusan Malaysia report today, Musa described the claim as “defamatory”.
“That is not me. I am not involved in the wedding and for public knowledge, I only have one wife, Juriah Ahmad. Do not try to defame me,” he is quoted as saying.
The comments come after the posting, together with a wedding photograph purportedly showing the marriage of Musa and Syella, surfaced on the Internet.
Musa denied knowing the singer and shot down the claim that he spent RM15 million on the wedding.
“If it’s true that the wedding costs RM15 million, I would like to have such an amount of money.
“I sympathise with the pair (Syella and her husband) because they are the ones who are married but I’m the one getting the name,” Musa is quoted as saying.
He added that he was considering legal action against the blogger making the accusation.
The posting also cited URTV magazine quoting Syella as confirming that her wedding took place in Kuala Lumpur from Nov 11 to 13.
However, she declined to reveal her husband’s identity, but denied that the person alleged to be in the blog photograph was her husband. – Mkini
