THE alleged affair between Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and a former staff member continues to dominate the Chinese newspapers, with China Press highlighting the issue on its front page on Sunday.
The focus of the newspapers was the woman involved in the alleged affair, Ng Phaik Kheng (pic), also known as Rainbow.
Reporters from Chinese dailies have been trailing her for the past few days to get her comment, including approaching her at a school function in Penang on Saturday, where she was the master of ceremonies.
China Press reported that Ng merely replied “no comment” when she was approached by reporters over the issue but did not avoid the photographers’ cameras.

CM’s former employee absent from school celebration
GEORGE TOWN: The woman who is alleged to have had a relationship with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was not present when he visited her school with his wife Betty Chew.
Ng Phaik Keng, a former staffer in the chief minister’s office in Komtar, was nowhere to be seen when Lim and Chew arrived at Chung Ling High School in Air Itam for its 95th anniversary dinner on Sunday.
Ng, whose exit from the state government has been questioned by some quarters, is now a teacher at the school.
Chew, the Kota Laksamana assemblyman, was dressed in a red blouse and was seen flashing a broad smile as she mingled with the guests.
Some 2,700 people who attended the dinner greeted the couple with applause when they arrived.
The crowd surged forward to take photographs with them for about 30 minutes before Lim was invited to deliver his speech.
Lim said he was grateful the students and alumni members had given support to him and his wife.
