KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar today ordered the Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre (PCIRC) to probe who was behind a disparaging picture of Prime Minister Najib Razak that has gone viral on Twitter.
The photo of businesswoman Azmiza Othman – more widely known as Datuk Vida – had her face cropped out and replaced with Najib’s. The perpetrator then vilified the prime minister by tagging on the caption: “Qu Samun! Qu Samun!” which loosely translates to ‘I’m a pirate.’
Khalid was first alerted to the picture by twitter user @DStarscreamx, who tweeted “@NajibRazak& @KBAB51 please order @PDRMsia to arrest the traitors to country who viraled this picture #GoPDRMGo” along with an attachment of the disparaging picture.
Khalid then called for an investigation via Twitter, saying: “PCIRC @PDRMsia locate @DJStarscreamx and question him where he obtained this shameful picture of the PM.”
Najib has often been made the target of jokes after his alleged involvement in controversies such as the RM2.6 billion donation deposited into his personal bank accounts as well as the mismanagement of 1Malaysia Development Berhad funds. – FMT
