KUALA LUMPUR: A woman, wishing only to be known as Cik Nur, claims she has been receiving calls and WhatsApp messages from strangers asking her for sex.
According to Cik Nur, the calls and messages started after her personal details were published in several sex websites.
Speaking at a press conference at Wisma MCA today, Cik Nur said more than 300 men have contacted her asking for sex since May 11 of this year.
She added that even the phone number of the office where she works as a Sales Manager, was published on the sex websites.
“I believe it has to be someone who knows me quite well because they have also revealed my working details,” she said.
When asked why she had not changed her phone number yet, Cik Nur explained it would be pointless as she suspected the culprit was someone close to her, who would eventually get hold of her new number and then proceed to re-send the new details to the same sex websites.
MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau head Michael Chong, who was present at the press conference, said he believed the culprit was someone who Cik Nur may have rejected in the past and who was getting back at her out of jealousy.
“I’ve received complaints of four similar cases in the last year and all of them were the work of jealous people who had been rejected in the past,” he said. -FMT
