KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice president and Pandan lawmaker Rafizi Ramli today urged Ampang PKR Youth chief Adam Rosli – who is under the spotlight for being a millionaire – to declare his assets.
“The moment he shows that there is nothing to hide it stops there. Otherwise (Sungai Besar Umno division chief) Jamal Yunos will thrive on it. I call upon all to declare their assets,” said Rafizi who is also PKR secretary general.
He also said he was dared to declare his assets last year by Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee.
”He dared me last year. I declared my assets and he has been quiet since then,” said Rafizi.
Yesterday Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Yunos questioned the source of Adam’s wealth. The 28-year-old has a mansion and has a honorific title, Datuk, to his name.
Rafizi also confirmed that he did not know Adam personally.
“I don’t know him. I heard he was from a different party. You should ask Zuraida,” he said, referring to PKR Wanita chief and Ampang lawmaker Zuraida Kamaruddin.
When asked whether there was any party mechanism to force Adam to declare assets, Rafizi said it was not the case for any political party.
“Declaration of assets by members who are not in public office are not in any party constitution. I don’t think any party can instruct members to declare.”
He added that PKR’s disciplinary board can only summon Adam if there was a complaint filed.
“Summoning is an unnecessary bureaucracy,” he said and reiterated his call for an asset declaration. – Berita Daily
