GEORGE TOWN: Still reeling from the shock of losing his sister, the elder brother of a Singapore Airlines flight attendant who died in the United states, has left a heartfelt message on his Facebook page bidding her a sad farewell.
In a post sighted today, Vanessa Yeap’s brother Eric, posted a collage of childhood pictures of himself and Vanessa, bearing the caption: “Ko Ko love you always”.
“Ko ko” means elder brother in Mandarin.
The picture was also used as the cover photo of Eric’s Facebook page, shared publicly.
When contacted, Eric told FMT he was at the San Francisco International Airport, and that it was “not the right time to discuss” matters of Vanessa’s repatriation.
He refused to comment further.
Late Tuesday, Penang-born Vanessa, 38, was found unconscious at her hotel in San Francisco (SF), California by her colleagues. She was supposed to have returned to Singapore on Wednesday.
The Straits Times reported Vanessa had served the airline for 16 years and had told her colleagues she was unwell two days before she died.
The airline refused to divulge further details pending “investigation of the local authorities”.
Newspaper SF Chronicle meanwhile reported the SF Police Department as saying the medical examiner’s office was still investigating the cause of the flight attendant’s death. – FMT
