KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — Lim Kit Siang asked Umno’s Tan Sri Annuar Musa today if he will be liable for a compilation of 16 essays depicting the DAP leader as “racist”.

Saying he was reserving his right to legal action, Lim also challenged Annuar to furnish him with all 25 submissions that the latter claimed had won RM50,000 in prizes for a contest soliciting essays titled “Lim Kit Siang is a racist”.

“I have one question for the Umno information chief Datuk (sic) Annuar Musa whether he would bear full legal responsibility for the ‘Lim Kit Siang is racist’ writing contest and all the articles which won awards,” Lim said in a statement.

“This is the second question for Annuar to answer — how could the Umno information chief launch such a book and whether Umno leaders are above the law?”

Lim noted that copies of the book containing the 16 essays were distributed at an event where Annuar announced the prizes.

He also said he was informed by DAPSY Youth’s Wong Kah Woh that the books did not contain details of the publisher and printer as legally required by the Printing Presses and Publications Act (PPPA).
