Rewcastle-Brown recently lodged a complaint against Raja Petra in the United Kingdom. Police later warned the blogger to stop writing about her.
She told The Malaysian Insight that she would let the police handle the matter.
“I do not wish to elaborate on matters which are already being handled by the police, except to say that these posts extended to racist abuses and incitement of hatred on religious and racial grounds.
“This goes beyond the bounds of frequent libel on this site, which RPK now admits he is responsible for,” she told The Malaysian Insight via email.
She did not want to comment on the racial abuses but, instead, attached an article in her email to The Malaysian Insight, showing a June 29 report of Raja Petra’s allegations against her and Sarawak Report.
Among his allegations in that report was that Sarawak Report, which is facing a suit by PAS, was pretending not to have money to fight the case, when she had allegedly received money in tens of millions from certain individuals, including former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, to attack Prime Minister Najib Razak with “fakes news on the 1MDB issue”.
The PAS suit was over an article by Sarawak Report that alleged the Islamist party had received RM90 million from Najib to step away from the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
According to Raja Petra, Sarawak Report had alleged that the PAS-Umno alliance was a “crusade” that stirred extremism and undermined civil law.
The blogger had also said the whistleblower site’s suggestion that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s private member’s bill to enhance the powers of shariah courts was an act of Islamic terrorism, was an insult to PAS and Hadi; and painted Islam and shariah in a very negative light.
He also remarked that Sarawak Report had “entered the domain of Islamophobia, disguised as freedom of speech, and of course, the DAP Chinese just love all this Islam-bashing.”
It was reported that Manchester police had visited Raja Petra, who is also known by his initials RPK, at his home to inform him that a complaint had been lodged against him over his articles on Rewcastle-Brown.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that he wrote articles that showed Rewcastle-Brown’s house and called her “a perfect example of white supremacy at its worst”.
It also stated that the volume of articles allegedly published about her were between one and two times a week for the last two to three months.
Police had reportedly told him that he would be arrested and charged in court if he wrote any further articles about her or mentioned her name in any article.
It was also reported that Raja Petra allegedly argued that Rewcastle-Brown herself had been writing about other people, like Najib.
Raja Petra reportedly told the police he would not stop writing about the Sarawak Report editor or stop mentioning her name in his articles, adding that he had been arrested many times before and one more time was “really not a big deal”.
